What’s your hometown?

What instruments do you use in your music making?
Piano, Drums, Guitar, Vibraphone, Harmonium, Drum Machines, Synths…
What albums inspired you to start making (electronic) music?
Not so much an album but when I first heard Run DMC and Aerosmith’s “Walk This Way” I swore to myself I’d figure out how those electronic drum sounds and synth stabs were being made.
What have you been working on recently?
I run PercussionLab.Com and we recently threw a few events which have kept me busy. We’ve had some great artists come through to perform, such as Daedelus, Flying Lotus, Jimmy Edgar and Landau Orchestra.
We recently put the first of three sets from our last Flying Lotus / Gas Lamp Killa / Landau Orchestra show up on the site. Its a recording of Landau Orchestra’s mind-blowing set. Their Fela Kuti cover alone is worth the download.
I also just finished this month’s XLR8R featured podcast. Its a mix I did for Ghostly International, previewing some of their upcoming gems. Praveen’s XLR8R podcast
Other than that, I’m putting the finishing touches on my next album, and an EP of music featuring Benoit Pioulard. Just finished my remix for him as well. Can’t wait for that one.

It was a toss up between Machinedrum and Landau Orchestra… Machinedrum’s playing in Japan right now so I guess I’d have to go with Landau Orchestra.
